Product Overview
The Cosmic 8-Series DIY kit is designed for show builders who want to assemble their own controller without sourcing the board, enclosure, power supply, pigtails, cable glands, wiring, mounts, and installation hardware from multiple vendors.
The updated Baldrick8 V2 adds a second 10/100 Ethernet port and onboard network switch, allowing controllers or other network devices to be connected in a daisy-chain configuration. This V2 kit includes two waterproof RJ45 panel connections and an updated enclosure drilling template to support both Ethernet ports.
The included Mean Well LRS-350-12 provides 350 W of installed 12V power supply capacity. The Baldrick8 V2 itself supports up to 6,000 RGB pixels for data output, but actual power requirements depend on pixel type, brightness, cable length, voltage drop, and display layout. Power injection may be required for larger pixel loads.

Skill Level & Safety
This kit requires enclosure drilling, component installation, low-voltage DC wiring, and connection of the included AC power components. It is intended for builders who are comfortable performing this work safely and following applicable electrical requirements and best practices.
If you prefer a controller that is already assembled, wired, labeled, and tested, choose the Cosmic 8-Series Baldrick8 V2 Ready-to-Run Pixel Controller.
Compatibility Notes
- This is a DIY controller kit and requires assembly before use.
- The Baldrick8 V2 includes two Ethernet ports with an onboard switch for daisy-chained network connections.
- The three programmable input connections are available on the controller board through Phoenix-style terminals.
- This is a pixel controller kit, not an FPP player or show computer.
- The 6,000-pixel specification describes controller data capacity and does not mean the included 350 W power supply can power 6,000 pixels in every installation.
- Power injection may be required depending on pixel count, brightness, cable length, voltage drop, and display layout.
- If you plan to use RGBW pixels or non-standard pixel types, please confirm the pixel IC/protocol before ordering.
Why Choose a Cosmic DIY Kit
Cosmic DIY kits use the same curated components found in our ready-to-run controllers, giving you a complete foundation for a clean controller build without sourcing the enclosure, power supply, mounting hardware, wiring, glands, pigtails, and accessories separately.
You handle the assembly while we handle the parts selection and compatibility.
